Life Insurance in Broward County, Florida.

Term, whole, final expense, and indexed universal life, sized to what your family actually needs.

Frankie Carlo is an independent life insurance agent in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, working across Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Margate, Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, all of Broward County, and the rest of the state since 2012. He writes term, whole, final expense, and indexed universal life policies, sized to what a household actually needs rather than to a sales target. Comparisons cost you nothing; the carrier pays the agent. Call or text 954-806-5830.

§ 01The four structures, in plain language

  • Term. Coverage for a set number of years, usually the cheapest way to cover a mortgage and the years your children are dependent.
  • Whole life. Permanent coverage with a fixed premium that builds cash value, priced well above term for the same face amount.
  • Final expense. A small whole life policy meant to cover a funeral and the costs that land immediately after a death.
  • Indexed universal life. Permanent coverage whose cash value growth is tied to a market index within limits set by the policy.

§ 02How much coverage is the real question

Most people start by asking what a policy costs and end up buying the wrong size. The useful order is the reverse. Work out what would still need paying if your income stopped: the mortgage balance, the years until the youngest child is independent, any debt that would not die with you, and the income the household would have to replace. Then look at what structure covers that for the years it needs covering.

Nothing on this page is a quote. Premiums depend on age, health, the face amount, the structure and the carrier's underwriting decision, and no policy exists until an application is approved.

§ 03About the medical exam

Most fully underwritten policies involve a paramedical exam, and it is less of an ordeal than people expect. Some policies can be issued without one, usually at a higher premium or a lower face amount. Which route makes sense depends on your health history and how quickly you need the policy in force. There is more detail in the guide to how the life insurance medical exam works.

§ 04How a first conversation goes

First conversations are free and carry no obligation. Have your age, a rough sense of your health history, your mortgage balance if you have one, the ages of anyone who depends on your income, and any coverage you already hold. Frankie works out the size first, then the structure, then compares what is available.
